Microsoft pilot program takes step towards Water Positive by 2030

It's an honour for Clean Waters Oceania to join forces with Microsoft Australia to install the most sustainable water solution for homes and offices, the Genny by Watergen.
The Genny is an innovative and advanced Atmospheric Water Generator device that creates superior quality drinking water out of thin air.
It works by extracting the humidity in a room's ambient air and condensing it into 30 litres of water every day.
All the water produced by the Genny is decontaminated, mineralised, refrigerated, and dispensed as either cold or hot water. The environmental credentials of the Genny are second to none.
The Genny is the only home/office device in the world that actively replenishes water back to nature and humanity as the water produced doesn't come from harming or exhausting a finite resource.
The device is considered carbon positive given it produces water out of air, and acts as an air purifier that cleans the surrounding air from particles and pollution.
It also consumes significantly less power to produce the same amount of clean water as other processes, and one device saves up to 18,250 plastic bottles of water every year.
In recognition of these environmental benefits, Microsoft has just installed a pilot Genny in its North Sydney office to help it achieve the "Water Positive by 2030" initiative, following the lead of Microsoft's new office building in Israel, which has installed devices in conjunction with a bubbler and tap system for easy access.
We expect other large enterprises to pledge to be Water Positive by 2030 and follow Microsoft's lead, given PepsiCo, Facebook, Google, BP, and Gap have all signed "water positive" commitments that seek to put more water into areas where they operate than they take out.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Development Goals and addresses concerns by the United Nations' International Resource Panel that "without altering current levels of water consumption and pollution, almost half of the world's population will suffer severe water stress by 2030".
It’s important to note there is no plumbing, refills or pre-existing infrastructure required for the Genny to produce water.
All you have to do is plug the machine into the socket and enjoy some of the world’s healthiest and purest water.
In addition to the Genny, Clean Waters Oceania is working with enterprises, charity organisations, remote communities, emergency services and mining companies to address their disparate water needs via our different devices, which include large devices that can provide water to an entire office block, medium-scale devices that can be used as a water source for data centre cooling systems, and the Mobile Box which is our portable small-scale device.
